Cheesecake: The Greatest Dessert Ever

If I say chocolate, berries, fresh fruit, caramel…what comes to mind? Of course the Cheesecake!
Cheesecake is the most delicious, sophisticated treat to enjoy on a cold or hot day. The dessert that if we are in Britain or the United States, we can't help but choose as a snack.
A typical dessert of the Anglo-Saxon world, many are convinced that the original recipe is English, but Cheesecake has ancient roots. The first cheesecake we have a memory of was served to athletes during the Olympic Games. But we are not talking about the modern Olympics in Atlanta or London, but the ancient ones held in Greece.
Athletes were refreshed with a cake made from sheep's cheese and honey!

How the cheesecake tradition has been passed down from antiquity to the modern world is, in part, a mystery.
Today's most famous recipe, the one with the crispy bottom and cream cheese is the result of a U.S. dairy farmer, James L. Kraft, who is 1872 wanted to try to replicate the famous French Neufchatel cheese. The experiment itself failed but in the attempt, an equally tasty alternative recipe was discovered: cream cheese — registered as Philadelphia — and therefore today's basis for modern cheesecake.

The best cheesecakes are those that are made from scratch, and usually involve a custard base to make them light and fluffy. There is a version of this dessert that is also baked, most famously the New York version, which involves the use of cream cheese and eggs, along with sugar, to make the filling. In this case, the cheesecake is indeed served cold, but after being baked in the oven.
The success of the cheesecake is measured not only by the typical variations in different corners of the planet but also by how much it has been able to stimulate the creativity of professional and amateur pastry chefs. There are, in fact, dozens and dozens of different preparations, all, however, following the same pattern: a more substantial dry cookie base and on top, a delicious soft cream cheese.
I love cheesecakes but my favorites are: chocolate, red fruits, Oreo cookiesM&M'S,and almonds. They are delicious!

Now that I've unraveled every arcane behind the origin of "cheesecake," and discovered where cheesecake originated, all that's left is to bring it to the table.
Enjoy!
