Meringue: a crunchy and chewy cloud

Meringue is a very delicate dessert that is part of French, Italian, Swiss, and Danish cuisine. It dates back to the 18th century but remains popular today in a variety of forms. Its popularity is its incredible versatility: meringue can be a decoration for cakes or fruit pies, and it can be eaten alone or as an accompaniment to other desserts, such as ice cream, sorbet, or chocolate. You can dress it up or play with it in many ways thanks to the various forms in which it is made: we are talking about the Meringue Shell, Meringue Kisses, meringue Spirals, Foam Egg-White Mousse, and Shaker Meringue Pie. You can color these fantastic meringues with gel colors and you can decore these with sprinkles and chocolate.
